I grew up on bangers, and mash, Camp Pie and for breakfast it was way too often a slice of toast smeared with dripping....FK me?!

Looking at all these comments, you're gonna have to do a re-do. Literally you could have gone to bunnings and grabbed a snag and that would have been more legit Australian cuisine than any of the NOT Australian food you ate. Make it right Sonny! @danevalentine3236as an American first of all I'd have to say that if you can't explain Australian food then there is no thing as Australian food. it's true that in the US we're also a hodgepodge of food from all over but we also have developed many other things we're taking them to other levels.
meat pies are good and we do have them already in us. but not quite like the ones they make in England. I'll take a Guinness meat pie any day over what you had there.
The toasty I make a better grilled cheese and tomato sandwich. and I use fresh tomato and ham that I first grill and then apply to the grilled cheese. the ham takes on a slightly different taste when you caramelize it a little bit first, and the only thing you need inside it is a little Dijon mustard. a little mayo on the outside to give it some color and cook it in some butter. Of coarse the bread matters.
I like my french fries separate. or chips whatever you want to call them. and I like fish and chips a lot. but prefer cod.
everything that you ate I thought would give me a belly ache because the oils that it was cooked in was old it looked like an too much fat and oil in the food.
with that said you probably did not give a very good example of Australian food. why would you pick the pie that everybody told you not to eat?

@blue-georgeWe never ate Four and Twenty pies as a kid. We had a local pieman who used to ride the streets on his three wheeled vespa with an oven on the back. The pies were made locally and cost 1 shilling.
